All candidates should be required to use only public funding. With private funding there is no way to know where they are really getting the money from.
It is more than a safe bet that Obama’s money is being laundered through various special interests, but, actually coming from hostile nations.

it’s amazing that McCain can turn IBM’s support (finance free) into some sort of mistrust. McCain said he felt he couldn’t trust ABM. Didn’t Carol McCain say the same thing about him?
McCain supporters, if you buy into that public finance bit from his ad, likes it’s a bad thing, you are truly much more stupid than I ever imagined. You are fighting so you can pay more money out of your pocket to finance a campaign you may or may not support. If you feel so strongly, throw him a couple of bucks. Obama has done great with that strategy.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with public funding for campaigns. In fact I think that all funds should be obtained from the government to run a campaign! I would suggest that you look a bit closer at Obama’s funding chest, it isn’t all from Joe, the guy next door! Why should McCain have to curtail his campaign thus practically giving it to Obama because of money! Yes the funds come from taxpayers, but it is from those who check the box on the tax form giving money to both parties to help fund campaigns.
